A superior example to most excavated others. This crisply defined and surface carved vessel of the Bura-Asinda Culture. Dating from the 4th to 10th century AD and from the Lower Niger region, a fine form and in perfect condition. A bejeweled women's head, scarified body, prominent navel, the flaired out section with relief work of birds. Is as fine in every respect as any. 22 1/2 inches high. 7 1/2 inches at its widest point.
